My band

Would you like not only to practise music, but to truly experience it? My Band is a space where individual musical talents come together to form a shared story. The course is designed for participants in music programmes who wish to further develop their skills through group playing and by exploring popular music genres—from rock, jazz, soul and blues to funk, hip hop and more.

Learning an instrument or singing gains its true value when it becomes part of making music together. This is exactly the experience we aim to offer young people in a relaxed and supportive environment, without pressure, yet with plenty of space for progress, expression and enjoyment in music. Such group music-making is rare within traditional music education, which makes My Band a unique opportunity for those drawn to contemporary music.

The My Band course takes place once a week throughout the school year and allows for in-depth yet relaxed exploration of musical material. It is possible to join at any time, and attendance is flexible; the emphasis is on taking time for meaningful creative work. The focus is on playing well-known songs together, while also leaving space for participants’ own musical ideas when inspiration arises. The course is not centred on compulsory performances, but participants may present their work on stage if they wish.
