The Festival hall – The most beautiful ballroom in Ljubljana
The imposing structure of the Baraga Seminary, built between 1936 and 1941, was originally designed as a home for seminarians. It is located on the site of the former cemetery at St. Christoph in Ljubljana. The four-story semi-circular building (the other half-circle that would complete the building into a full circle was never built, although it was planned by Plečnik) is modeled after the Roman Colosseum and Castel Sant’Angelo. The closed semi-circular building conceals an interesting atrium courtyard. Each floor on the inner side of the building is connected by a perimeter corridor that leads to individual cells.
In 1956, architect Anton Bitenc redesigned the central part of the building to accommodate the Festival Hall. The hall is accessed via a monumental staircase with columns and decorative sculptures. Luxurious columns also adorn the foyer and the main hall.
The Festival Hall is technically equipped for hosting both complex and less demanding events. The arrangement of tables, stage, chairs, and other scenic and visual elements can be customized based on the number of attendees and the type of event. We have top-notch technical equipment and staff who enhance the potential and versatility of the hall with their knowledge and experience. The Festival Hall is suitable for both smaller audiences and larger events. In the case of fewer attendees or at the request of the client, the space can be divided into two parts, separating the stage program and the catering.
In the Festival Hall, a venue with a rich tradition and modern technical equipment, numerous events take place throughout the year – from business events, domestic and international dance events, to gala ceremonies, concerts, congresses, fashion shows, graduation balls, weddings, theatrical performances, and youth events.
