Cultural day for primary and secondary schools, performing arts

During the cultural day at Pionirski dom, students become active participants, not just observers of the cultural program.
The emphasis is on gaining experience, as we believe that this is the only way to ignite a spark in children and encourage them to have a greater and more lasting interest in cultural and artistic content.
Even learning foreign languages ​​becomes much easier and above all more fun when you get to know and feel the stories of great musical authors or discover why Japanese architecture is so very different from ours.
Children find that with a little imagination, a desire to know and some basic equipment, they can make a cartoon or comic book themselves. Through art, they can express themselves in a way that reflects their deepest feelings. At Pionirski dom, we want to enable them to do just that – we want them to feel art.

In Pionirski dom, we offer cultural days from various fields:
• Visual art: Let’s animate the story, Graphic relief, Portrait
• Performing Arts: Before the Curtain
• Foreign languages:
o German language and music workshop: Wie geht’s, Beethoven?
o Japanese Architecture Workshop
o Spanish language and painting workshop: ¡Hola, Gaudí!

In cooperation with the Elephant Society, children will learn about the entire process of animation, with an emphasis on the development of an imaginative idea or message as an artistic image. The workshop is divided into several parts: in the first part the story, characters and scene are prepared, and in the following parts computers and cameras are installed. In this way, the children change their workspace several times, which makes working in smaller groups more pleasant and maximizes the use of time. Every child gets to know all the stages of creating an animated film. The recorded material from the workshop is subsequently edited, equipped with sound and captions, so that the students have a lasting memory.
• Graphic relief (all classes)
As part of the cultural day, we will first familiarize ourselves with the basics of the graphic medium in contemporary art, which has appealed to us for centuries because of its specificity – repetition and reproduction. As a basis, we will use the classic graphic technique of letterpress printing – linocut.
Young people will learn about the transformation of the graphic medium. The basis will be the matrix, which we will print into the sculptural material, and from this we will derive the relief and the sculptural object. Printmaking today encompasses a wide range of artistic expression, as many artists incorporate this classic medium into their painting, design and sculpture.
• Portrait (all classes)
When drawing a portrait, we focus on the peculiarities that distinguish us from each other. These cannot be achieved without a practical knowledge of some basic laws: basic shape, (a)symmetry and the relationship between size and smallness. Only then can we focus on the details. We use mirroring, redrawing or imprinting techniques. Furthermore, with details and samples, we show that a portrait is not only a photographic likeness, but also an expression of the author’s ideas. We will create with temperas, markers, glue and other simple materials.

• 3 teaching hours: €9.50
• 4 teaching hours: €11.5 per child
