Dance for teenagers

The Dance for teenagers course places the individual expression of each participant in the foreground while simultaneously interweaving it with the creation of a harmonious connection within the group as a whole. Through the process of improvisation, which plays a key role in artistic development, the dancers of the Gible group explore their unique artistic identity while also building their technical skills and creative confidence. Improvisation not only encourages personal progress, it enriches group dynamics, since it connects the dancers in a shared artistic expression.

Prestigious national and international prizes

The Gible group boasts a rich history of achievements, including local, regional and national prizes and prestigious international awards. The group takes part in important events such as the daCi conference, where members can exchange experiences with young dancers and dance teachers from all over the world. The group also performs at festivals in Slovenia and abroad, showcasing high-quality contemporary dance. Their activities go beyond just performances, and they actively participate in educational programmes aimed at deepening knowledge about contemporary dance and its expressive possibilities.

The dance group is thus a space where individual creativity and collective expression intertwine. This leads to unique artistic achievements. Through various activities, from improvisation workshops to international projects, members not only develop their dance skills, they broaden their horizons as well. They grow in confidence and prepare themselves for further creative journeys in the world of dance.

Dance has numerous benefits

Dance offers a wide range of benefits, since it combines physical, emotional, cognitive and social development. At the physical level, it helps improve motor skills, balance, coordination and posture. It also enhances body awareness and improves fitness. Participants get to know their bodies through movement, developing flexibility and endurance, which has a positive impact on their overall health. Dance also has an important emotional dimension, since it allows us to express feelings and emotions in a creative way, thereby promoting inner balance and relaxation. At the same time, children gain self-confidence, as through the process of learning, creating and performing they learn to overcome fears and strengthen their sense of self-worth. Every mastered choreography and successful performance allows them to take pride in their achievements.

From the cognitive point of view, dance stimulates memory, concentration and problem-solving. Learning steps, rhythm and sequences of movement teaches children how to connect different elements into a cohesive whole. At the same time, it encourages creativity, since children develop their own ideas and personal interpretation of movement. Music and rhythm teach them structured thinking and strengthen their aesthetic sense.

The social aspect of learning to dance is important for connecting with others. Participation in a group encourages mutual support, respect and teamwork, while performing in front of an audience strengthens their self-confidence and ability to handle public situations. Through dance, children also explore different cultures, music and artistic styles, which enriches their understanding of the world and encourages openness to diversity.
