English for teenagers
In today’s world, English has become a lingua franca, so knowledge of English is already seen as something that is more or less essential. Wherever you are in the world, English will undoubtedly be a language in which you will be able to communicate. Pionirski dom offers a wide range of language courses, including English for teenagers and adults. Lessons take place in small groups. This means that students can participate actively in the lesson and receive real-time feedback from the teacher on their progress. In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, course participants at Pionirski dom cover a range of interesting and relevant topics and become more confident using the language.
English language courses are based on the four key language skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. We focus on improving communication skills, especially speaking. Because of the small size of the groups, participants can more effectively reinforce structures they already know and broaden their vocabulary. We are particularly careful to ensure that we provide students with the appropriate stimulation and encourage them to express themselves in the foreign language.
Getting to know the culture of English-speaking countries
Learning about the culture of English-speaking countries give students an opportunity to compare a foreign culture with their own, in the spirit of the humanistic tradition. As they discover the specific characteristics and differences of the foreign culture, students develop a tolerant attitude towards difference, while at the same time consolidating their own identity. Language courses give students the opportunity to get to know the culture, history, civilisation, customs and traditions of English-speaking countries. They also learn about writers, artists, scientists and other notable figures. Individual topics are covered in modular fashion.
Participants can then consolidate the additional knowledge gained in our year-long and shorter courses by taking international exams from Cambridge English, which are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for foreign languages (levels A1 to C2). You can read more about the exams HERE.
Participation in Pionirski dom exhibitions, projects and festivals
The courses are designed for different ages and levels, from complete beginners to learners with prior knowledge. The content of each course is adapted to the goals and wishes of the participants. We also offer individual language lessons. Learners take part in a range of exhibitions, projects and festivals and a final event. They can also get their Pionirski dom reading badge.
