Simon Atkins, from near Stratford upon Avon, England, started teaching at Pionirski dom when he came to Slovenia in 1998. During the more than 25 years that Simon has been teaching English here, he has helped students of all ages improve their English and prepare for the B2, C1 and C2 levels of the Cambridge exams, and for the IELTS exams. As a native English speaker, he offers students at Pionirski dom more than simply the opportunity to improve their English language skills. He enjoys enriching his lessons with materials, activities and discussions tailored to the students he teaches, to stimulate conversations and debates about topics and issues which the students are interested in. In doing this, the students on the courses are presented with the opportunity to actively take part in the lessons in a way that they would not be able to at school or university, and to engage in enjoyable, stimulating and productive lessons.
