Maja Peklenik is from Kranj, but now lives in Ljubljana. After graduating from the Šentvid Diocesan Classical High School, she spent a year as an au-pair in London, which encouraged her to study English and Slovenian. She is currently finishing her undergraduate studies. She has been teaching and tutoring both languages for several years, mostly working with young children. She is fascinated by how quickly children grow to love the language and start acquiring it from the very beginning.

In her free time, she enjoys reading and exploring new languages, and each year she finds a new place that inspires her.
