Ajda Simčič is a student of Italian studies and comparative linguistics at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana. Growing up near the Italian border, she always felt a strong connection to the culture and language of our neighbouring country, which motivated her to pursue this field during her studies. In addition to Italian, she is fascinated by extinct languages, as she is a comparative linguist who studies their development and the reconstruction of their common Proto-Indo-European origins. She believes that languages, with all their history, represent not only a means to improve modern communication, but are also the key to understanding other cultures. This is why passing on her linguistic knowledge brings her great joy.
