English for primary school children
The English for primary school children course provides learners with practical knowledge of the language that will serve as an important basis for further language learning. It is structured in a way that combines the traditional approach and innovative methods, where situational learning places the child at the centre of an interactive learning process. English learning takes place in a relaxed setting where children can learn everyday communication through play, music, creative activities and the use of modern technologies. The main focus is on developing their confidence in using the language, which is the key to maintaining their motivation in the long term. This approach ensures that children will be happy to use English in a variety of everyday situations and stimulates their interest in lifelong learning.
The course also introduces them to English children’s literature and the cultural characteristics of English-speaking countries. They read books that are part of the standard literature for children, in this way gaining an insight into a foreign culture through stories and characters. This experience can help them understand the language through culture and broaden their language skills in a way that is both educational and fun.
The sessions are adapted to different age groups and levels of prior knowledge, from complete beginners to children with more experience of the language. Children can participate in exhibitions, projects and festivals and final events that are all part of the course. They can also get their Pionirski dom reading badge. Individual lessons and lessons for small groups are also available, where the course is additionally adapted to the needs of every participant.
Preparation for international exams
The course also includes introductory preparation for and familiarisation with the internationally recognised Cambridge English exams Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers, which are especially adapted for children. These exams offer a structured but friendly way to check progress and motivation for further learning. Learners who reach higher levels can choose to take the B1 Preliminary for Schools exam, which corresponds to the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference and serves as good preparation for those who later wish to continue with more difficult language exams.
