ZOOM.18 festival selectors:

Sara Šabec

she is a film and theater teacher. Self-employed in culture as a performer, teacher and producer, she has received numerous awards for her work. In the field of film and film education, he cooperates with many institutions: Kinodvor, City of Women, Pionirski dom, Animateka, Cultural Center Novo mesto, Kino Vrhnika and Kino Cerknica. She leads various film educations, film talks, prepares film materials and is a selector of the ZOOM film festival.

 

Vid Hajnšek

obtained his master's degree at AGRFT in 2018 with the master's feature-length documentary film The End, which received an award from France Brenko. During his studies, he directed the short documentary film Franček and Otilija and the short feature film Tujca. At the academy, he worked as an assistant director on many study films, and outside of his studies, he worked on the film Oroslan (director: Matjaž Ivanišin). As an external employee, he works at the France Miklošič High School in Ljutomer, where he teaches the course Screenplay and Directing.

 

Jelena Dragutinović

has a degree in philosophy. Since 2015, he has been working in the field of film education. She is the coordinator and mentor of animation film workshops at Društvo Slon, which implements film educational programs in educational institutes, museums and galleries throughout Slovenia and visits cultural institutions abroad. She is the selector of the children's program at the Animateka and StopTrik festivals. In addition to workshops for children, he also conducts training for educators and talks with films.

 

 

Jury of the ZOOM.18 festival:

 

Zarja Menart

graduated from ALUO in Ljubljana. She is self-employed in culture as a film animator and illustrator. As an art director, illustrator and chief animator, she worked with several Slovenian productions. In recent years, mainly with Finta film production, where she and Špela Čadež created several award-winning animated films Nočna ptica, Orange is the new Black and the latest Steakhouse. She completed her animated debut this year - Three stamens. She mainly illustrates for animated films, but occasionally also for monographic publications and children's periodicals. She exhibited at several solo and group exhibitions, such as the Slovenian Illustration Biennale.

 

Anja Banko

is a film critic and pedagogue and editor of the film program at the Slovenian Cinematheque. She is a former editor of Temna zvezda, a program about film on Radio Študent, and is currently co-creator of the feminist radio section Zdrmana on the same radio. She publishes in magazines such as Ekran, occasionally also in a daily newspaper. She is one of the co-creators and mentors of Ekranov's film-critic circle Do zajena beseda, and she also works with Kinodvor programs for young audiences Kinotrip and Kinobalon. She is a member of the program team of the international festival of experimental audiovisual practices V-F-X Ljubljana.

 

Miha Šajina

is a producer, sound designer and DJ from Ljubljana who started his musical journey as a keyboardist in the bands Intimn Frizurn and Moveknowledge, and soon founded his own electronic trio called Ewok. Since 2002, Šajina has also been working in a collective Zvviks, where he creates sound effects and music for Koyaa's stop-motion animated films, and passes on his knowledge to the younger generation in the animated film workshops of the Dagiba institute, where he helps primary and secondary school budding students create sound for their animated creations.
