Interest in learning the Korean language and understanding Korean culture has recently surged. In the music world, the popularity of K-pop groups cannot be overlooked, and South Korea is also renowned for its traditional music, called hanguk-eumak. This represents one of the six 'han' elements associated with Korean culture: hangul (Korean alphabet), hansik (traditional Korean cuisine), hanbok (traditional clothing), hanok (distinctive houses), and hanja (adapted characters). Besides the well-known K-pop music, we are all familiar with Korean technology companies, and we must also acknowledge Korea's achievements in science and literature — the 2024 Nobel laureate is, in fact, a Korean, Han Kang.
